Spidersnet took home the Web Design for Independent Dealers award at the Car Dealer Power 2014 awards at a ceremony in July.
Hundreds of dealers from up and down the UK had their say and Spidersnet were voted the winner. These awards are truly unique in the UK motor trade as they are voted for by car dealers alone, and their votes are always completely confidential.
The ceremony was held at the top of the fantastic Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth and representatives from all over the motor trade were in attendance at this lively Black Tie event.
The team were delighted to take home the award, and were also highly commended in the Web Design for Franchise Dealers category on the night. So all in all it was a good night for Spidersnet.
Divisional director Ian Partington won the Personality of the Year Award on behalf of Simply Jobs Boards, at the 2014 OnRec Awards.
This dynamic MD was recognised by the great and good of the online recruitment industry. They were impressed by his leadership style, unfaltering commitment to innovations that drive commercial success, and his in-depth understanding of the niche markets in which the jobs boards operate.
Spidersnet web designer Craig Shaddick collected Independent Dealer Website of the Year for Auto Sportiva – a site he created to showcase Will Lee-Kemp and Guy Clarke’s sports and prestige cars. A great achievement!
Friday Media Group – Pure360 Email Design Award
These awards are open to public voting so it was a great achievement to land this high profile prize as part of the Pure360 Email Awards 2013. Many voters commented that “you don’t even need to read the article to know what it’s about”. It was felt that Friday Media Group’s great use of imagery tells a story before the user even has to delve into the detail – a great endorsement that Friday Media Group are experts when it comes to email marketing.

Spidersnet – Car Dealer Power Awards 2012 Award for Search Optimisation Services
These awards, held in association with G3, saw over 30 awards handed out to some of the top suppliers to the car dealer industry, voted for by more than 1,000 dealers across the UK. Winning the title for best Search Optimisation Services was a great achievement and confirmed that Spidersnet’s websites are built to be attractive, relevant and highly visible to search engines and web searchers.
Supporting and Hosting Local Events
Having so many connections to the local community, involvement in local events has been part of our DNA from the early days. We organise our own Tack Sales, Craft Fairs, Digital Marketing Workshops and Careers Open Days, and regularly fundraise for local charities as part of these events. We also regularly sponsor, attend and support other organisations’ local events.
Leadspring Marketing Workshops
Leadspring, our awarding-winning digital marketing agency, launched a range of Marketing Workshops in 2013, designed to help small and medium sized businesses – from hairdressers to catering firms – realize the potential of online marketing and social media.
Experts from the Leadspring team presented and taught the practical skills needed for email, data analysis, PPC, SEO, content, social media and mobile. The aim was to help these businesses gain a better understanding of how to use online marketing to grow their business, increase enquiries and boost profits.
Feedback from the day was excellent.
Spidersnet Facebook Workshop for Motor Dealers
Spidersnet held a well attended Marketing Workshop, in May 2013 at their head office in Sayers Common, West Sussex. Entitled ‘Grow your business with Facebook’, the workshop was designed specifically for independent motor dealers within the automotive industry. The motor dealers who attended learnt a great deal from the free event, including how to reach new and existing customers on Facebook and Twitter, and how to make social media a part of business strategy.
The dealers on the workshop were able to gain valuable information, practical advice and stacks of great takeaway tips to use to help them to engage, attract and build a their dealerships online presence.
Spring Garden & Leisure Show 2013
Attractions included, Open Dog Show, Alpaca Show, and a host of livestock to see. With live entertainment and stacks of stalls and demonstrations, this proved a great day for all the family, and a worthwhile community event to support.
Made in Sussex Craft Fair 2013
The Friday Media Group was delighted to help raise over £5,000 for The Point Foundation by hosting this great family day in Lindfield, West Sussex in September 2013. A team of FMG volunteers created, organised and ran the Made In Sussex Craft & Food Fair 2013 which boasted a ‘Shabby Chic Barn’, Afternoon Tea on a London bus, homemade crafts for sale, and delicious locally produced food. Our Friday-Ad business really helped here as we were able to provide furniture and collectables – donated to the fair from the Friday-Ad readers – and raise over £1,200 from sales. Over 3,000 visitors came to the farm to make this a really special, rewarding day.
