Charity Dog Walk Friday Media Group Foundation

Paws to the Floor charity dog walk

Early morning showers didn’t dampen down enthusiasm for our fantastic Paws to the Floor charity dog walk on Sunday 13 July, held in East Brighton Park. So we’d like to say a very big thank you to all who supported us, whether walking, donating, helping on the day, or buying tickets for our bumper raffle.

The total amount raised was £873.05!

The sun came out just as the walk kicked off, and a fun, friendly, furry time was had by all. Over 100 people took part in the scenic walk through the park and Sheepcote Valley, with over 50 beautiful dogs in attendance – ranging from chihuahuas to huskies, and many more amazing breeds in between.

Paws to the Floor charity dog walk Money raised through the walk and raffle will go to the Raystede Centre and RehomeMe.co.uk – two great animal welfare charities supported by the Friday Media Group Foundation.

“We were thrilled with the turnout, and the fact that so many people came to support these worthwhile causes,” said Binny Hawketts, Friday Media Group Events Manager. “Thanks to the sunshine, scenery and everyone’s generosity, the whole day was a great success. So see you next year for Paws in the Park 2015!”

Well done to all the raffle winners and thanks to the brilliant companies that donated the prizes, including Pets Corner, Fish for Dogs, Nature’s Menu, Brighton Zumba, and Rok Strap leads. Finally we really appreciated the generosity of The Pavillion Cafe at East Brighton park – 10% of their takings from the day have been donated to Paws to the Floor. Thank you all!

Here’s a video, shot on the day, that shows the dog walkers in action!
