Friday-Ad football tournament

The Friday-Ad Charity 7-A-Side Football Tournament took place on Saturday, 7th June in aid of the Sussex Heart Charity.

This wonderful event was created and organised as a pre-World Cup Warm Up for local Sussex businesses by Lucy Singh from Brighton University who is undertaking an events and marketing internship with the Friday Media Group.    Balazs crop

The tournament took place on the new 3G pitches based at the Freedom Leisure Centre in Uckfield, who kindly donated the pitches for the day’s event.

Ten teams from across Sussex took part. Early on in the day we had a few rain showers, thunder and lighting, then the sun came out and things started to get hot! The matches at the league stage were fun but competitive with the top two going through to the semi finals, these were Ransom Building Services, Focus Group A, Focus Group B and Seasons Scaffolding.

The final was a tense game between Ransom Building Services and Seasons Scaffolding. After a nail biting 30 minutes, it was the Ransom boys who came out on top and they were crowned the Champions of the day, winning trophies and a corporate box to see Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex in the forthcoming season!

We would like to thank all the teams for taking part and entering into the spirit of the event, Freedom Leisure, all our referees for their hard work on the day, and finally we would like to thank the following local business for their raffle donations.

Overall, we raised over £850 so thanks again to everyone! Now let’s all grab a beer and cheer on the England team and see how they go in Brazil!!!

More great photos of the day here!
