The Friday-Ad team and the staff at the Friday Media Group were keen to support the Turning Tides  “Pull Up a Chair Appeal”. So with donations from the staff they created a bumper Christmas Hamper, whereby they then sold raffle tickets to raise funds to support the appeal. From the goodwill & support of the staff at the Friday Media Group we are delighted to announce we have raised £214.00 which means we can buy six chairs to support the appeal.

Rob Hancock from the Friday Media Group said “we are very proud of all our staff for coming together and supporting Pull Up A Chair appeal. From talking to the team at the Turning Tides charity we understand for some people Christmas can be a very difficult and challenging time of year. So everyone was pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile cause, we send our best wishes to everyone taking part in the Pull Up A Chair Appeal”

Lucy Knowles Fundraising Manager  from Turning Tides said “Thank you so much to all those people at Friday Media Group who ‘pulled up a chair’ around the Christmas table for some neighbours who are homeless this festive season.

The money that was raised will not only enable our clients to enjoy a hot meal, counselling, housing advice and medical checks but also to feel less alone over the difficult Christmas period.  More importantly, it could introduce them to support that could help end their homelessness for good through our year-round services.

Without your generous donation and the fantastic support of our local community, we would not be able to provide this support.  Once again, a big thank you to you all!”

Will you invite someone to ‘Pull Up a Chair’ this Christmas?

Living on the street, sleeping in a cold dark alleyway, taking shelter in the woods or constantly on the move for fear of being abused, you would not be looking forward to the next day, let alone Christmas.

The local homeless charity, Turning Tides, is appealing to the public to donate £35 to enable a homeless man or woman to ‘pull up a chair’ around the Christmas table – providing them a festive meal, company, warmth and support during the festive period. They will also be able to have a hot shower and fresh clean clothes.
